Experienced hunters
You’ve put in the seasons. Now help a youth through their first: scouting, sits, ethics, and the harvest.
Mentorship
You don’t need to be famous—just someone who loves the outdoors and is willing to invite a young person into it. Men and women welcome.
Who it’s for
Mentors with Future Hunter Alliance are hunting and outdoors role models. If you know the woods, the water, or the field—and you can teach safely and patiently—you belong here.
You’ve put in the seasons. Now help a youth through their first: scouting, sits, ethics, and the harvest.
You don’t need decades afield—just competence, humility, and a commitment to do things right with a kid beside you.
Kids need all kinds of mentors. If you love the outdoors and can show up consistently, we want you.
What mentors do
Connect
We help connect mentors with kids who never got invited—and with kids who need a better path through the outdoors.
Prepare
Cover firearm and bow safety, hunter education where required, clothing, and what a hunt day looks like.
Hunt
Time afield is the core of mentoring here—not classroom theory alone. Real sits. Real lessons. Real respect for wildlife.
Build
Patience, honesty, grit, gratitude to landowners, and pride in doing hard things the right way.
Mentorship means hunting mentors. Future Hunter Alliance is about outdoor role models who take kids hunting—not generic tutoring or unrelated programs.
